BUGWAK: The Watery Barangay of Dangcagan, Bukidnon

BUGWAK is a local name meaning "fountain or spring". True to its name, Barangay BUGWAK of DANGCAGAN, BUKIDNON has two natural springs gushing out below its lush forests. While Bugwak Gamay (small) remains untouched, Bugwak Dako (big), situated close to local residences, is developed into a swimming pool (still an ongoing project by the local government). Since the project is not yet completed, as of now, July 2018, the pool is still freely open to those who want to take a dip.

Water from pool streams down a wonderful two tiered waterfalls. The lower tier is around 15 feet high. The upper tier, dropping 30 feet high, widely spreads on a verdant gorge. From the pool, the falls can be trekked for just 10 minutes passing through farms and paddies.

How to Get There:

From Poblacion, Dangcagan, Brgy. Bugwak can be accessed by private rides. For commuters, habalhabal costs P40.00 per head. Contact Daniel for habalhabal and tourguiding services at 09055984057.
