Lanuza, a 4th class municipality of Surigao del Sur, is a small yet endearing coastal town of the province. Lanuza is almost a complete treat to a tourist who wants to experience everything (except for a filthy nightlife). It has clean beaches, shoreline fit for surfing, waterfalls, caves, name it...
And no need to worry where to spend a restful night. Homestays (accredited by TESDA and DOT) are everywhere.
HERE ARE THE THINGS WORTH COMING BACK IN LANUZA:
1. SURFING
The shoreline in Lanuza draws local and foreign surfing enthusiasts and professionals. Surfing is an ordinary activity in the municipality, which hosts Surfing Festival every November. Surfing lesson costs P500.00 a day.
2. MARINE PARK AND SANCTUARY
Sitio Cagmino, Sibahay is a home to this Marine Protected Area, hosting different aquatic species including the famous "pawikan". At the entrance of the park is the Sanctuary Cafe where you can sip hot and cold concoctions, eat native foods and buy local products.
3. MAGKAWAS FALLS
Just a short walk from Marine Park and Sanctuary, Magkawas Falls graces the Green Paradise Park of Brgy Sibahay. The local government developed the area and made it convenient to visitors and swimmers to enjoy its refreshing waters.4. CAMPAMENTO CAVE
Located in Sitio Silop, Gamuton, Campamento Cave is full of wonderful stalactites and stalagmites, wild bats, snakes, spiders and the famous birds "sajaw". Campamento Cave, a challenging and difficult spelunking site has even hosted an international caving congress. The cave is 5 kilometers away from the town proper.
Just beside the Campamento Cave is the cold crystal clear Silop Spring. The refreshing water invites and brings out the child in every tourist.
6. WHITE HOUSE
The century old Herrera's Ancestral House happens to be one of the attractions in Lanuza. It showcases antic household equipment and furnitures.
7. MUNICIPAL HALL
The municipal hall pictures the whole town. It is equipped with tourist-friendly information.

10. SEAFOODS AND MORE
Aside from the delicious seafoods common to coastal towns, Lanuza is also known for its healthy "nipa" wine.
