KAAMULAN FESTIVAL 2014: Celebrating Bukidnon's 100 Colorful Years

KAAMULAN comes form the word "amul amul" which means gathering of the 7 hill tribes of Bukidnon namely--- Bukidnon, Higaonon, Manobo, Matigsalug, Talaandig, Tigwahanon and Umayamnon. In this festive celebration, the 7 tribes showcase their culture through dances and colorful costumes which proves the festival as the only authentic and genuine ethnic festival of the country.

In line with Bukidnon's Centennial Founding Anniversary, the 2014 Kaamulan Festival was truly grand and spectacular. It highlighted the Streetdancing and Ground Ethnic Presentation participated by the 22 towns of the province last August 30 and 31. The competition was well prepared by each contingent. Bounty and creativity were differently showcased. The city of Malaybalay was filled with overflowing crowd and vibrant colors. Each has his own way of fulfilling his festive anticipation. To sum up, the event turned out to be a real celebration rather than a competition.
