THE RUINS: A Romantic Landmark of Negros Occidental

The Ruins in Hacienda Sta. Maria, Talisay, Negros Occidental is one of the major stops among tourists visiting the province. The structure is, literally, ruins of the mansion owned by Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson built before the World War II. The mansion is said to be built in remembrance of his wife who died during pregnancy of their 11th child.

During World War II, Lacson found out that the Japanese invaders eyed his mansion as a headquarter. With his consent, the local guerrillas set the mansion on fire to prevent the invaders. It took days to burn the mansion but when the fire died down, lots of its parts stood still.

Entrance Fee:
Adult- 60.00
Kids- 40.00

HOW TO GET THERE

1. If you are on budget, from  Bacolod, take a jeep with "Bata - Libertad" route at public plaza. Drop off at the crossing going to Goldcrest Village in Bata near Pepsi Bottling Plant. Then you will see a signboard "This Way Going to The Ruins". Take a tricycle direct to the site.

2. If you want convenience, take a taxi direct to The Ruins for P200-300. That's a contract price.
